THE COMPANIES (AMENDMENT) BILL, 2020

further to amend the Companies Act, 2013.
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventy-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
- (1) This Act may be called the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2020.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification
in the Official Gazette, appoint:
Provided that different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision.
In the Companies Act, 2013 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in
section 2, in clause (52), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:—
“Provided that such class of companies, which have listed or intend to list such class of securities, as may be prescribed in consultation with the Securities and Exchange Board, shall not be considered as listed companies.”.
