Orders of Unblocking of E-way Bill Generation

1. Where can I view the status of my application for Unblocking of E-Way Bill?

Navigate to Dashboard> Services> User Services> Additional Notices and Orders.

2. What are the reasons to accept unblocking of an E-Way Bill of a Tax payer?

Following are some of the reasons for acceptance of unblocking an E-Way Bill of a Tax payer:

  • The party is facing acute financial problem and will suffer huge financial losses, if E-Way bill generation facility is not restored.     
  • The Appellate Authority/Court has ordered for restoration of E-Way Bill generation facility.   
  • The party has assured to file the return by ________.    
  • The goods are of perishable nature, and if not supplied within time, will lose its value.   
  • The supply is of critical nature/defence production or procurement. 

3. What are the reasons to reject unblocking of an E-Way Bill of a taxpayer?

Following are some of the reasons of rejection of unblocking an E-Way Bill of a taxpayer:

  • Party has not filed return required to be filed as per law for restoration of E-waybill generation facility.   
  • Any relaxation in the E-Way bill generation facility for the Party, will endanger the revenue.    
  • The claim and submissions made by the party was not found reasonable /not substantiate   
  • Suo moto cancellation of Registration proceedings have been initiated against the party.   
  • Party is Found to be Non-existent at the registered address(es).   

4. How will I be notified for any action taken by Tax officer on my application for unblocking of E-Way Bill?

After the Tax officer generates Order for unblocking of the E-Waybill generation facility (irrespective of Acceptance/Rejection), the copy of the said order is made available at Taxpayer’s login.

Navigate to Dashboard> Services> User Services> Additional Notices and Orders.

Also, an Email and SMS will be sent to taxpayer on the registered email id and mobile number.

5. What is the duration for which unblocking of an E-Way bill is valid?

Unblocking of an E-Way bill is valid upto 30 days/60 days/90 days depending on the selection of the tax official.

6. What are the various Application statuses while issuing an order of acceptance/rejection for unblocking of E-Way bill?

Listed below are the various Application statuses while issuing an order of acceptance/rejection for unblocking of E-Way bill:

  1. Order Generation Enqueue – when Order generation is in pending state
  2. Order of Acceptance Issued – when Order is generated for acceptance of unblocking of E-Way bill
  3. Order of Rejection Issued – when Order is generated for rejection of unblocking of E-Way bill

7. Can I re-apply to unblock the E-Way bill generation facility for a rejected order?

Yes, a tax payer can re-apply to unblock E-Way bill for a rejected order.

Tax officer is allowed to submit the new Order again even if, the earlier orders for the said GSTIN/UIN were Accepted/ rejected/ already unblocked.

8. Will I receive any reminder before the expiry of my validity period?

Yes, the system will send reminder mail and SMS for the expiry of validity period and filing of returns with in time to avoid unblocking of E-Way bill generation facility.

This mail to be send 7 days before the date of expiry.

9. How will I get to know if my E-Way bill generation facility has been blocked?

GST system will send SMS/ Email at the updated registered mobile number/ email id of the taxpayer whose E-Way bill generation facility has been unblocked/ Rejected/already unblocked.

10. What are the steps to view Acceptance/Rejection Order for unblocking of the E-Way bill generation facility?

Navigate to Dashboard> Services> User Services> Additional Notices and Orders.

Also, an Email and SMS of acceptance/ rejection of order will be sent to taxpayer on the registered email id and mobile number.

11. Why my unblocked E-Way bill generation facility has been blocked again?

E-Way bill System will automatically ‘Block’ the Taxpayer post the expiry of the validity period. This automatic blocking will be done if the validity period has expired and taxpayer is still in the defaulter list after expiry of validity period.

12. Is it possible to block my E-Way bill generation facility before the expiry of the validity period?

No, E-Way bill generation facility will not be blocked before the expiry of the validity period.

However, E-Way bill System will automatically ‘Block’ the Taxpayer post the expiry of the validity period. This automatic blocking will be done if the validity period has expired and taxpayer is still in the defaulter list after expiry of validity period.
